Continuum -- I really like this word - and I like the new John Mayer album too :) Since last Sunday's sermon that finished up the book of Ruth by Mark Dever I've been thinking about the faithfulness of the Lord. Ruth out of simple obedience and honor to her mother-in-law ends up being part of such a huge story. The story is encouraging to be continuous in seeking Him daily. Ruth is a good example of being faithful in the little things. It's also a wonderful story of how the Lord blessed Naomi even when she was complaining and being stubborn. God continued to love her and chose to bless her as well.

May you continue to seek the face of the One who loves you continuously!

How famous are you?

http://babynamewizard.com/namevoyager/lnv0105.html

This week has been one of those weeks that I've run in to a bunch of people who seemed angry, frustrated and definitely in a hurry to not let anyone get in their way. A simple visit to the cell phone store turned in to hours of waiting. Some people had been waiting for over 3 hours -- for a cell phone! Ok, so the lady who was waiting for over 3 hours - she had a right to be upset.

It got me thinking about how we all think we're so important. We all need to go to the front of the line, for whatever reason. I think that where I need to go next means that my turn is more important than other people that have been waiting.

This morning the Lord hit me upside the head -- why are you so important? Well, the answer is... I'm not!

In John 3:30 Christ reminds us "He must become greater, I must become less."

How am I doing this daily?
Am I encouraging others as I see them decreasing themselves and increasing Christ?
What do we learn about Christ as we pursue a relationship with Him?

Anyway, I've attached a fun link to see the popularity of your own name. It's fun, and humbling -- there are so many people out there with the same name as you!

May you seek after the Lord and not get caught up about how important you think you are.

...... on a sad note.... it's almost time to put my flip flops away. French manicured toes will not be seen till the Spring.... Yeah Right! I'm gonna wear 'em anyway!

Although leaves are falling, the flip flops remain!
